Campus Kitchen (UGArden)

I assisted with client deliveries for The Campus Kitchen at UGA, helping provide fresh, nutritious food grown and prepared at UGArden to older adults and families experiencing food insecurity.

Working with The Campus Kitchen at UGA by providing food delivery services was a meaningful experience that deepened my understanding of food insecurity and the importance of community solutions. Delivering fresh produce and meals directly to clients, specifically grandparents raising their grandchildren, helped me see the immediate impact that access to healthy food can have on someone’s daily life and overall well being.

What stood out about this volunteer service was the thoughtfulness behind each delivery. Each delivery was more than just a drop-off. Over time, I had the chance to get to know the clients that we served, learn their stories, and build meaningful connections. These relationships reminded me that service is just as much about listening and showing up with empathy as it is about meeting physical needs. I saw how thoughtful solutions rooted in sustainability can directly improve quality of life. These moments strengthened my commitment to public health and my passion for supporting families and older adults.
