Athens Land Trust

Volunteered with the West Broad Farmers Market & Garden, an initiative of the Athens Land Trust. I assisted with the farmers market setup and helping maintain the community garden, supporting local food access and sustainability efforts.

Volunteering with the West Broad Farmers Market & Garden was an exciting experience for me. Whether I was setting up the market spaces or helping out in the community garden, I felt proud to be able to contribute to a space that promotes food access, sustainability, and community.

The Athens Land Trust’s goal of strengthening communities through land stewardship, education, and economic opportunity was evident in everything that I saw and helped with during my time volunteering with them. Being part of their work, even if only in a small way, reinforced my belief that promoting health has roots in addressing the environments that shape the community’s everyday lives.
